Dist:0.7km<br/>Walking in the marshes you get used to bridges as there are dykes everywhere. The village of Covenham itself is quite small but has two churches that are only about 100 yards apart, St Bartholomew [[49097]] is no longer used for worship.

Dist:0.8km<br/>A fire in 1405 destroyed an earlier church and St.John Baptist's was entirely rebuilt and Perpendicular throughout. It once had a south aisle and the arcades can be clearly seen. Sadly no longer a place of regular worship, but given a new lease of life by an enthusiastic group of hand-bell ringers and cared for by the Redundant Churches Fund.
