We are surrounded by information, mostly very serious information. This blog I started is not really just drivel, but both a learning curve for me and to lighten the serious burden of life that we carry. I hope that anybody that reads my drivel will actually leave me some comments, so I too can hear what the community wants. Many thanks for looking!

The upper of the shoe, laces

 (25 miles away)

It looks like Russell Westbrook is going to continue to get the recognition he deserves. Nike again is going to bless Westbrook, this time with a Hyperfuse 2011 Player Exclusive. The point guard that currently directs the Oklahoma City Thunder and is the set up man for Kevin Durant has a PE that is now available at online retailers. This is a perfect match. One of the best performing basketball shoes will be rocked by one of the best performing professional basketball players. Just as the Hyperfuse is a rising shoe star, Westbrook is a rising NBA superstar.

Both the Hyperfuse and Westbrook have strong resumes. Westbrook led his UCLA Bruins to consecutive Final Four appearances in 2007 and 2008. Not too shabby considering those were the only two years he spent playing college basketball. He was selected in as the 4th pick overall in the 2008 NBA Draft. After three strong seasons, Westbrook is on the verge of becoming one of the true superstars of the league. The Nike Hyperfuse has an equally impressive track record. After first being released, this shoe has consistently performed at high levels year after year. It has been one of the most durable, lightweight, and breathable basketball shoes that Nike has dropped in the last couple of years.

The new Hyperfuse PE that Nike has dropped for Westbrook uses a colorway that perfectly matches the colors of his Oklahoma City Thunder team. The upper of the shoe, laces, and Swoosh feature Photo Blue. Orange accents are used on the midsole and inner camouflage print inner. The shoe of the tongue also uses the Thunder-colored camo print. The shoe is finished off nicely with a clear, translucent outsole.

The Nike Hyperfuse continues to roll along at a swift pace. This just might be the hottest shoe on the market. Quite fitting for a shoe that was originally developed to combat the heat that builds up during play. Nike designers visited China in an effort to observe the avid ballers who spent hours outdoors on the hot blacktop of the courts that populate the country. The material that is known today as "Hyperfuse" was directly influenced by these players. The mesh panels that exist on the upper of Hyperfuse allow for the release of heat that is built up during play. These panels were created in direct response to the harsh, hot outdoor conditions of the courts in China.

The other specific design element that Nike brought back from China was the Hyperfuse itself. Hyperfuse is a combination of three different element "fused" together by heat. As a result, the three different elements create one of the strongest materials ever used on a basketball shoe. The direct result is durability. The Nike Hyperfuse 2011 is perhaps the most durable shoe on the market. Among the Nike shoes for basketball, the Hyperfuse continues to be one of the most popular pair of kicks. I guess that makes Russell Westbrook pretty popular.

I have been an avid sneakerhead for 40 years. From running shoes to my true passion, basketball shoes, I own more pairs of shoes than I can count. Nike, Adidas, Under Armour, and Reebok are dropping some pretty sick kicks right now. If you are like a sneakerhead like me, you truly can't wait for tomorrow when news of a new sneaker drop will be announced.
