Dist:0.3km<br/>View down the start of one of the gutters in the dip slope of Croft Ambrey. This is the same hill as Wenlock Edge, a double ridge of chalk like limestone with characteristic downland features. At first the stream here only runs in Winter, but becomes permanent further downhill.

Dist:0.4km<br/>Path from Bircher Common to Croft Ambrey along the edge of the scarp slope. Leinthall Common was open grazing once but has reverted to woodland. The trees are scattered and do not interrupt the fine views of the Vale of Wigmore and Leinthall Quarry. A fine alternative route to the waymarked "Mortimer Trail" running through the commercial wood below.

Dist:0.9km<br/>Newly painted and with no sign of vandalism, this is how pillars used to look. I have been coming here on and off for many years and can remember most triangulation pillars looking like this. There is only a view southeastward due to the nearby forestry.
