Greetings

Habib ‘Paps’ Ullah died on Thursday 3rd July 2008 during a stop and search by Police Officers on a vehicle in a car park in High Wycombe at approximately 7.15pm. He was 39 years old and leaves behind a young family.

We are concerned how a man can die in the process of being arrested and how he came to have breathing difficulties. There is an Independent Police Complaints Commission investigation taking place into his death.
A small group of us with family members attended the Annual Remembrance Procession against deaths in custody on Saturday 25th October from Trafalgar to Downing St.

A big thank you to all who came down and the messages of support we have recieved. Please see the photos uploaded today and support future events and activities that we have planned. We will be looking at more online activities to involve supporters on facebook.

182 people have died in custody in the last 12 months and overall since 1969 when we had the first recorded death in custody there have been 2,533 individuals who have died in prisons, police cells, psychriatric units & immigration centres. Since 1969 not a SINGLE police officer has been prosecuted successfully.

The six months anniversary of Habib's death will be on Wednesday 3rd of December and we will be organising a vigil outside the Police Station & a meeting locally. Watch this space for more details.
