Dist:0.5km<br/>A substantial burial ground, but unusually with no building. It turns out that there was once a "tin tabernacle" here, built in the 1890s and dedicated to St Michael and All Angels, with a schoolhouse attached. When St Mark's Church in Station Road was built in 1909 (see [[1419191]]), the old (or not so old!) church became redundant and was removed, but the burial ground remained.

Dist:0.5km<br/>A corrugated iron Mission Church, named St Michael & All Angels, was built at Wootton Common in 1885. It was located at the junction of what are now Whiterails and Briddlesford Roads, on land donated by Mrs Nunn-Harvey. The associated burial ground was consecrated in 1893. In 1901, an enquiry was held to decide if the burial ground should be closed but it was allowed to remain open subject to certain work being carried out in order to prevent contamination of local water courses. The church became surplus in 1909 with the opening of nearby St Marks and the building was sold for use in Cornwall for a sum of £55 - one wonders if it still survives. It would seem likely that the burial ground fell out of use at the same time but it appears to be still well cared for.
