<br/>Taken around 1974 from just outside the Woolwich Arsenal gates, the old tram tracks are still visible in the cobble stones running left to right between the two cars and just in front of the skirt stands. A second line crosses the foreground going 'through' the Cortina wing mirror with the other rail passing just in front of the litter.

Dist:0.2km north<br/>Woolwich Town Hall is the seat of Greenwich Council, and the centenary of its opening was celebrated in January 2006. This is the Wellington Street frontage.

Dist:0.3km north<br/>The sanctuary is all that remains of the former military chapel or "Garrison Church" opposite the former Royal Artillery headquarters. The chapel was built in 1873 (or 1863 - sources vary) and bombed in WW2. The remains are Grade 2 listed and it is on English Heritage's "buildings at risk register".

Dist:0.3km north<br/>This imposing Grade II listed building was built as the headquarters of the Woolwich Equitable Building Society in 1935, and overlooks General Gordon Square. The Society's headquarters is now in Bexleyheath, but it retains a branch facility at the building. The upper floors are mainly unused now but are fitted out as a disaster recovery centre.

Dist:0.4km north<br/>This arch is at the entrance to Beresford Square and Woolwich Market from Woolwich New Road. The inscription above the Woolwich Market sign reads "This market has been serving the citizens of Woolwich since it was created by a Charter granted by James I in 1619".
