Dist:0.1km<br/>The site of Woofferton station. The signals have been set to allow the approaching train to proceed along the main line. The further facing signal (the red & white one) for the North-bound (left-hand) line is a junction signal. The slightly taller post carries the signal for the most important route with the lower post carrying the signal for the lesser route (in this case a siding). These signals are lower quadrant signals, following the traditional Great Western Railway system. For all railway companies a horizontal arm indicated danger.

Dist:0.2km<br/>Woofferton Junction was a classic example of the country junction. A large complex surrounded by farmland, not handy for any local housing and with the junction arranged in the wrong direction, away from the local traffic centre of Ludlow. The branch line to Tenbury Wells was moribund from the 1930s, but staggered on with repeated attempts to diminish expenditure through the 1950s, finally being closed in July 1961. The station building, goods shed and much of the goods yard are now used by a local timber merchant.

Dist:0.2km<br/>One of several similar designs unique to the "North & West" route. Before 1961, the branch to Tenbury Wells and Bewdley passed to the right of the signalbox. Beyond the dismantled farm accommodation bridge there is a loop on the up side, the signal for which is visible in the distance. A parallel down loop also existed at one time.

Dist:0.2km<br/>The site of the former station at Woofferton. The posts that once held the station nameboard still stand, just to the right. The next building after the station buildings was formerly the goods shed. Woofferton was a junction station, with a branch line running to Bewdley, via Tenbury Wells. This line diverged to the right from the current, main line just after the station.

Dist:0.2km<br/>This was once a railway junction with a single track coming in from the Midlands to join the, still surviving, main line between Hereford and Shrewsbury. Post Beeching (actually the line was closed just before the mad axeman) it was a sawmill, which has obviously closed in the last few years.

Dist:0.3km<br/>Viewed from the minor road overbridge this is looking towards Hereford on the Marches line from Newport to Shrewsbury. The signalbox can be seen in the distance and this is one of the passing loops on this line.

Dist:0.4km<br/>Salwey Farm is located on Station Road near the A49 junction. Its current use is as business premises. The buildings show here are occupied by GCA Pool & Snooker, Unit 147, opposite the entrance to the Travel Lodge and Little Chef.
