Dist:0.4km north<br/>The river and a path alongside it run through the sewage works and is a convenient (if smelly) shortcut between Twickenham and Isleworth for cyclists and pedestrians. It is an artificial watercourse owned and maintained by the Environment Agency. This stretch of the Duke's River is fed from the River Crane at Mereway Road, Twickenham and discharges into the Thames at Mill Plat, Isleworth.

Dist:0.5km north<br/>The river turns sharply from flowing north to flowing east at this point and within a mile drains into the Thames at the site of what was one of the largest flour mills near London.

It can be seen from the people present, that although it was a cool May evening, a party atmosphere prevailed.Refer to my image[[670490]] taken a short while earlier.

Dist:0.9km northwest<br/>This photo, taken at Isleworth Depot, was the last trolleybus to work over the route 657 Hounslow to Shepherds Bush. Crowds of people turned out on a cool May evening in 1962 to welcome the crew back to their home depot. The vehicle itself had been packed with passengers and a party atmosphere prevailed. Note the advert for a week's holiday at Prestatyn Holiday Camp £8-15-0.!
