It makes a pleasant walk in this part of Isleworth which is known as Woodlands.

Dist:0.4km<br/>The river and a path alongside it run through the sewage works and is a convenient (if smelly) shortcut between Twickenham and Isleworth for cyclists and pedestrians. It is an artificial watercourse owned and maintained by the Environment Agency. This stretch of the Duke's River is fed from the River Crane at Mereway Road, Twickenham and discharges into the Thames at Mill Plat, Isleworth.

Dist:0.6km<br/>Farnell�s Almshouses are located behind St John�s Church, Isleworth.
An expanding population in the 1840s caused overcrowding at All Saints� Church, Isleworth, and a second church was proposed to ease this. The Duke of Northumberland gave a site on St John�s Road and donated �2,000 towards the cost of construction, the balance being raised by the community. Much of the money for the church was given by the Farnell and Glossop families. The vicarage, school and almshouses were all the gift of Mr John Farnell, owner of the Isleworth Brewery. Farnell�s Almshouses were built in 1858 to provide accommodation for six men and six women.They now comprise 13 bed-sitter terraced bungalows.
