Looking east towards Woodhouse Lane. The skateboard park straddles the grid line, so the far side from the boy on a skateboard is in SE2935, the near side in SE2835.

The inscription on the building shows that it was built in 1906 - it bears the insignia of Edward VII.

This statue commemorates Henry Rowland Marsden who was born in Holbeck in 1823. He was a generous benefactor and founded the Leeds Music Festival in 1874. Marsden was Lord Mayor of Leeds in 1873 and 1874. He is also noted for his invention of a stone crusher, an example of which can be seen at Thwaite Mill.
The inscriprion reads: '1878 - erected by upwards of 30,000 subscribers'. On two of the sides of the plinth there are scenes depicting education and industry.
