Singing Starlets Music, Movement & Drama for under 5's
SINGING STARLETS PROVIDE MUSIC, MOVEMENT & DRAMA SESSIONS AT DAY CARE FACILITIES FOR CHILDREN AGED 0-5 YEARS OLD. WE ALSO RUN OPEN CLASSES IN STEVENAGE, HITCHIN & LETCHWORTH.
SESSIONS ARE LEAD BY AN EXPERIENCED SINGER/ACTRESS WHO USES THEIR PERFORMANCE SKILLS TO MAKE EACH CLASS A FOCUSED, YET FUN EXPERIENCE. THE CHILDREN ARE ENTERTAINED WITH 30-45 MINUTES OF INTERACTIVE SONGS, WHICH THEY ARE ENCOURAGED TO JOIN IN WITH AT THEIR OWN PACE AND LEVEL.
UNDER 2’S SESSIONS:
WE USE A MIXTURE OF OUR FAVOURITE TRADITIONAL NURSERY RHYMES, AS WELL AS ORIGINAL SONGS TO HELP CHILDREN LEARN AND DEVELOP COORDINATION. THE SONGS ARE BROUGHT TO LIFE USING PROPS AND PUPPETS, WHICH CAPTIVATE THE CHILDREN. THEY ENJOY GUESSING, ‘WHO IS GOING TO COME OUT AND SEE THEM TODAY?” ALTHOUGH THEY MAY BE SHY DURING THE FIRST COUPLE OF SESSIONS, SINGING STARLETS IS ALWAYS VERY POPULAR WITH UNDER 2’S. WE ALSO TEACH SONGS THAT INCLUDE BABY SIGNING, WHICH YOU CAN PRACTICE WITH YOUR CHILD DURING THE WEEK.
3-5’S SESSIONS:
AT THIS AGE WE LIKE TO GET THE CHILDREN UP AND DANCING. WE WILL TEACH THEM SOME FUNKY DANCE ROUTINES TO SOME 'POP SOUNDING' CHILDRENS SONGS, AS WELL AS SEASONAL AND EDUCATIONAL THEMED DANCES AND ACTION SONGS. THESE HELP THE CHILDREN NOT ONLY LEARN ABOUT COORDINATION, BUT THE CONTENT IN THE SONGS HELPS THEM TO LEARN IN A FUN AND STRESS FREE WAY. 2-5’S ARE ALSO OFTEN INVITED TO ACT OUT CHARACTERS IN WELL-KNOWN NURSERY RHYMES, WHICH THEY REALLY LOVE. NURSERIES OFTEN COMMENT HOW SURPRISED THEY ARE THAT THE SHYEST CHILD WANTED TO STAND UP AND DO SOME ACTING IN FRONT OF HIS/HER PEERS.
COMMON FEATURES IN ALL SESSIONS INCLUDE:
· MUSIC AND MOVEMENT
· ACTION SONGS
· PROPS AND PUPPETRY
· MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS
. PARACHUTE
· BUBBLES

4th Friern Barnet Brownies
Brownies the section of GirlGuiding UK for girls aged seven to ten.
Brownies become a member of a six such as Badger, Fox, Mole, Squirrel, Hedgehog and Rabbit and follow a programme called the Brownie Adventure. The name reflects the world of exciting opportunities, challenges and fun that is Brownies.
Girls can participate in a wide range of activities at their regular meetings, and at special events, day trips, sleepovers, camps and holidays. They can find themselves trying out arts and crafts or recipes, playing energetic games, taking part in community action projects, or zooming down zip wires at one of our activity centres.
Girls can also extend their knowledge and abilities by working towards Brownie interest badges covering many different hobbies and activities from Science investigator to Circus skills.
Fourth Friern Barnet Guides
Fourth Friern Barnet Guides are a Guide unit, based in Friern Barnet, North London. We meet on Tuesday nights to play games, try new activities, make friends, help our community and have fun. We go on holiday as a unit each year camping in the summer, and somewhere indoors when it's colder.
Guides are aged between 10 and 14, and a lot of us were Brownies before becoming Guides, but you don't have to have been a Brownie first. We wear a uniform, and at the moment special neckers to show that we're celebrating the Centenary. Guides are 100 years old this year, and we're looking forward to celebrating that in as many ways as possible over the next 12 months.
What do Guides do? Being a Guide is all about learning new skills, making your own decisions and having fun. Guiding provides a safe environment to explore new possibilities and achieve personal goals while making friends and having adventures. And it’s up to each Guide to work out which opportunities are relevant for her, whether it’s improving her football skills, party planning or learning about independent living.
•Guides work together in Patrols. They elect their own Patrol Leader and are encouraged to plan their own activities. Patrols provide a ready-made group of friends and helps the girls to feel that they belong to something special.
•Any girl aged ten to 14 who wishes to, can become a Guide.
•Each Guide chooses the top she wants to wear from the options available in the Guide wear collection. This choice allows Guides to be themselves but also makes them feel part of the unit.
