Dist:0.4km<br/>Silage bales from earlier in the Summer. Round bales are wrapped in polythene which is now usually recycled. This method of anaerobic fermentation of grass appeared in the 1980s when large "bin bags" were used. Modern wrappings are lighter and use less plastic. The wrappings are usually recycled.

Dist:0.9km<br/>This is a great sheltered lunch spot and I've had a snack here a few times on various walks, with my back against a fence, sitting on my day sack and enjoying this part of Wenlock Edge which is often virtually teeming with wildlife and devoid of people. From here I observed rooks feeding on ploughsoil, two buzzards circling and calling, two hares feeding and shuffling about and two Green Woodpeckers fighting and chasing each other, making an awful din.

Dist:1.0km<br/>The scarp above a wheat field. There is an unusual patch of open downland here, usually the scarp slope is wooded. The Edge is the lower of two parallel ridges made of limestones of varying strengths. The softer mudstones form a landscape similar to chalk downland with the same features. Behind harder rocks form a line of hills which often top 300m, the highest being High Vinnalls near Ludlow (375m, [[1840553]]).
