Dist:0.2km<br/>A footpath and cycleway from Easton Lane works its way through the M3/A34 roundabout without encountering any traffic, except where the cycleway has its own signal phase to cross. Looking north we can see the other carriageway of this large junction. Note that the motorway is two lanes at this point, it being three behind us where the A34 slip roads join and leave.

Dist:0.3km<br/>When the A33 Winchester bypass was upgraded to the M3 in 1985, two subways and connecting paths were built to allow access between the two sections of Easton Lane that had been divided by the new motorway. Although the route has been in continuous use by cyclists and pedestrians since then, when an approach was made to the Highways Agency about signing National Cycle Route 23 through the ways, they rejected the request.
