Behind the Oast House Visitor Centre in the Bough Beech Reservoir Nature Reserve. This shallow pond (known as Roy Coles Flood) is on a stream feeding into the main reservoir. Beside it was constructed this wall (out of Celcon Blocks) as an artificial Sand Martin Bank. The wader scrape is soil covering the bank around the wall, with hollows in for waders to nest in. This oast house is opposite Bough Beach Reservoir Visitor Centre. The centre was having an open day, cones stopped visitors going into the Oast House garden and carpark.

Dist:0.1km<br/>View of cowl from inside kiln. The cowl sits on a long wooden spindle connected to a cross bracing support half way up the roof. This example is actually faulty as the square spindle sits uncomfortably in the metal top support and is wearing away the wood, and preventing the cowl from pivoting properly. If not fixed a strong wind will break it off.

Dist:0.1km<br/>This Oast House and Barn near Winkhurst Green Road is used by Kent Wildlife Trust as a visitor Centre for the nature reserve on the Northern area of the Reservoir. The barn has toilets and the Oast has a museum (upstairs) and cafe (downstairs). A small car park is also provided.
