Dist:0.2km north<br/>The present railway station at Windermere, a modest affair with only one platform, was built in 1986 to replace a larger covered station of four platforms. Most of the remainder of the site is occupied by Booths supermarket. For a more recent photo see [[459990]]; it can be seen that the entrance to Booths has been altered considerably since then, and vegetation has grown on what was bare soil to the left of the track in this earlier shot. More recently Windermere won the accolade of "Best Small Railway Station in Europe (2009)".
