However, the factory buildings here are producers of animal feed. From their website: Trouw Nutrition is part of the Nutreco Group – a worldwide organisation manufacturing products for, and supplying technical research and consultancy to, the Agriculture and Aquaculture industries. Since its formation in 1931, Trouw Nutrition has led the way in the research and development of innovative products.

Dist:0.2km<br/>A small scale high quality salt works using vacuum evaporation technology. Closed 2006 and was one of the last (if not the last) sites with a reciprocating steam engine power house. This ran 24/7 generating power for the site. On this particular occasion it was the annual shut-down and two fitters were completing an overhaul of the steam engines.

Dist:0.3km<br/>Two narrowboats are moored just south east of bridge 193 at Marston outside the old Lion Salt Works. These works were the last open pan salt works in Cheshire but closed in 1986 following the collapse of its West African market. However, the works are now in the process of restoration more details of which are available at: http://www.lionsaltworkstrust.co.uk/index.asp .
