Dist:0.5km<br/>Dumbles are the deep cut valleys, with attendant streams, which are a feature of the high ground to the north east of Nottingham. The geology of the area is clay based, allowing the stream to cut easily into the landscape. Not much water in the stream at present, but the narrowness of the valleys means that there is considerable risk from flash-flooding in villages which often line the valley bottoms, and where the streams may be partly culverted.
