Dist:0.1km<br/>A series of low waterfalls where the Middlehope Burn has cut down to the Five Yard Limestone, named by the miners for its thickness. The limestone has broken into a series of large square blocks. Near here, on the east bank, is the site of Spring Bank Level, a tunnel driven north beneath the valley to drain the workings of Slitt Lead Mine.

Dist:0.1km<br/>The broken rock above is sandstone overlying an exposure of dark grey shales. These were known as 'plate' by the miners but are too soft for any commercial use.
