Dist:0.2km north<br/>This is Dewsbury's largest park, and contains the Crow Nest Mansion which can be glimpsed in the background. This is partly used as the town's museum. There is a lake with ducks nearby, and the main war memorial is at the top of the park - the memorial in this photo is for those killed in the Boer War.

Dist:0.3km north<br/>The temple is a stone built structure in the grounds of Crow Nest Park. Crow Nest Park was the former home of Sir Mark Oldroyd, a local mill owner and entrepreneur who sold the house and grounds to Dewsbury Corporation for £22,000 in the 1880's.

Dist:0.3km north<br/>The house on the left is rather interesting: The door and windows look 19C, but instead of a pitched roof it has a little iron fence around a flat roof, and urns on the corners; and there is the manufacturers advert, which must have been carefully repainted at some time. Incidentally this is a one-way street so the motorist is not on the wrong side of the road!

Dist:0.4km north<br/>The northern side of this bridge has been filled in due to road widening. Possibly the space underneath is used for storage by the adjoining industrial premises.

Dist:0.4km north<br/>The foreground is the landscaped central reservation, then beyond the hidden east-bound carriageway of Webster Hill, Pinfold Lane is beyond the fence. Then there was a partly demolished house, and the mosque at the top of the hillside.

Dist:0.4km north<br/>St Matthew's Church, West Town, Built in 1848 and a very good imitation of a rural parish church. It is skilfully converted that one can hardly tell that people now live in it.
