Dist:0.1km<br/>Looking north from close to Welland Village Hall. Garratt Bank is an east-west ridge with a scattering of houses along it. After years of topping up the field just over the road with landfill we now have a useful sports field and small car park on what was the land reserved for the poor of the parish in the 1851 Welland Inclosure Act.

Dist:0.3km<br/>The large Victorian vicarage stood in large grounds at the end of a long drive. More recently houses have been built on either side of the drive (now called Lime Grove) and the vicarage greatly extended to form the nursing home. Behind are the Malvern Hills; in the centre is the quarried Black Hill and to the right is the twin peaked Pinnacle Hill.

Dist:0.3km<br/>This land at the junction of a stream running from Castlemorton Common and the Merebrook running down from the Malvern Hills was often flooded and may have been a millpond for Welland Mill (some 300m to the east). During the 1990s this land was filled with many lorry loads of soil and rubble.

She recited Psalm 121 : "I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills.." and concludes with the most apt verse: "The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore." Mary Roberts of the Friends of Welland, who had the structure erected, then presented it to the Parish Council Chair, Roger Cousins.
