Dist:0.2km<br/>This highly fissured block of limestone has a remarkably small base and was probably left in its current position by melting glaciers. Although named on large scale maps it is not obvious being just north of the road opposite the hall and rather dominated by large farm buildings close by.

Dist:0.3km<br/>Hawes Water is unusual for the area - limestone is the native rock. It is held up by glacial debris and reputedly used to be the haunt of a huge sheep-eating water serpent. You are far more likely to see the ponies http://www.exmoorpony.org/ grazing here and on other nearby reserves.
