Dist:0.4km<br/>This modern postbox stands outside Purbeck District Council's Turbary Court – a reminder that while the postal addresses of Upton are Poole addresses, we are not actually within the borough of Poole. The postbox is emptied finally at 5:30pm on weekdays and at 12:30pm on Saturdays.

Dist:0.5km<br/>This notice had just been put up when we took the photo, and reads: "Wildlife Update. Dorset Wildlife Trust. Dartford Warblers are now nesting on the Heath. These birds nest close to the ground and are very prone to disturbance by people and dogs. Please take care when walking across the heath and help protect these rare species by keeping to the main paths. Thank You"

Dist:0.5km<br/>In this area, pine trees are being felled, to help the Heath return to its natural state of 'warm heathland'. Among hundreds of pine stumps, little birch trees are growing, and will have to be removed in the future. In the distance, a curtain of pine trees is being retained to separate the Heath from the A35.
