Dist:0.3km north<br/>At corner of Green Lane and Brunswick Street. This could be mistaken for a suburban CofE church, such was the convergence of architectural styles in the late 19C. Perhaps the give-away is the twin doorways, one each side of the nave, which are often a feature of earlier chapels. This church was built in 1876, in a 'restrained Gothic Revival style' to quote the information in imagesof england.org.uk, which gives a detailed description.

Dist:0.3km north<br/>Amongst this densely built-up area there are still large open spaces such as this recreation ground between Green Lane and Healds Road. Sometimes they have been preserved by being given to the Council with a covenant preventing development, but I don't know if this was the case here. In the background are some of the older buildings of Dewsbury Hospital, which like many old hospitals was first built as a Workhouse.

Dist:0.3km north<br/>With a rounded corner, and a house at the back. Then three one-storey lock-up shops and a three storey building with a parapet that would have looked better if carried on along the side. Perhaps the architect was expecting another tall building next door!
