This building has been converted into a number of residences. The square contains the canal, Aldermaston Wharf, roads farmland and residences. This view is in the south western section of the square, taken from near the Kennet and Avon Canal Visitors Centre.

The lock is situated in the south eastern section of the square. A gravel heap can be seen in the centre of the photo, the area being heavily mined for gravel which, apparently is impacting on the water table in this part of west berkshire

Dist:0.2km<br/>These are new lights and have been installed since the old Padworth railway depot and sidings have been changed into a waste disposal site. Presumably the lights will obviate traffic conflicts between large, refuse disposal vehicles on the narrow bridge. The railway runs from Reading to Newbury.
