Priston hides in the valley beyond the foreground field, just showing a few rooftops, Stanton Prior hides behind the prominent hill on the right. However, all is not lost, away near the left hand edge a small white rectangle marks the garage at the junction of the A39 and the A368 and a little to the right of it Marksbury appears with the top of its church tower showing above the trees (can be seen in the original). Still moving right and nearer the camera we fine Priston New Farm. Bits of Bristol are way beyond Marksbury but I won't tease you with that.

Dist:0.5km<br/>In the middle ages a Palmer was someone who had made the pilgrimage to Jerusalem. Over the meadow, beyond the sheep, we find Withyditch and the Cam Valley. A collection of 3D photographs in http://www.somerset3d.co.uk/logos & pictures/town & village pages/withyditch.html On the horizon, a little to the right, if you look carefully you will see a thing like a big mushroom, this is the water tower above Limpley Stoke and Freshford [[ST7760]]

Dist:0.5km<br/>The foreground pasture soon tips over into a valley containing Priston which is due north of this spot and about half a mile away. The ground soon rises to more farmland before it tops the next ridge then drops into another valley which contains Priston Mill Farm, about a mile further north. On the other side of that valley yet another ridge and at the top, to break the monotony, Wilmington and Wilmington Farm. Neither of these ridges is named on OS Explorer Map 155. The hills seen faintly in the distance are the Cotswolds east of Bristol.

Dist:0.6km<br/>As it approaches Tunley from the east the B3115 follows the top of a ridge giving views to the north and south on a clear day. Here we look north to Lansdown, the racecourse is just beyond the horizon. If you are looking for Kelston Round Hill it is dead centre frame well camouflaged against the background, its clump of trees only just clears the skyline. [[ST7167]] Upper Weston is beneath Lansdown Hill to the right and nearer the camera we find bits of Inglesbatch and Priston.

Dist:0.8km<br/>A view looking south along Withyditch Lane, towards the bridge over the old trackbed of the Great Western Railway Camerton Branch. The GWR Limpley Stoke to Camerton branch line closed to traffic in 1951 on the closure of the Camerton colliery, but was used in 1952 in the making of the film “The Titfield Thunderbolt”. Peasedown St.John can be seen on the horizon.
