Dist:1.0km<br/>A sturdy shaft collar & what appears to be a 'bat castle' on a long-disused shaft. Whether or not it's used by bats I don't know, as it was completely flooded when I visited.

Dist:1.1km west<br/>In the early nineteenth century there was a huge increase in the number of miners working at Wheal Vor. Many of them were Methodists and this chapel and Sunday School was built in 1833, replacing a smaller earlier one. The building is no longer a chapel but is still the largest building in the village.
