Dist:0.3km<br/>Looking south-east towards Treknow village. The field boundaries here are all made of slate, neatly piled in fishbone patterns. Many were built as a by-product of the extensive 19th century slate mining.

Dist:0.5km<br/>Looking north-west towards Penhallic Point. On the north side of Hole Beach there are several small slate mines working into the cliff side, like the hole seen in this picture. Strong points would be built into the cliff face for cradles and buckets to lower the slate down the cliff face.

Dist:0.6km<br/>The largest of many slate quarries between Trebarwith and Tintagel. The pinnacle may look like a sea stack, but it has been left behind from quarrying activity which has removed the whole cliff face because it is made of inferior quality slate. Dist:0.7km<br/>The workers left this 80' spire of poor quality slate in the middle of the quarry, as they worked the better stone from around it.
