Makin' Steps Performing Arts
Makin' Steps is Harlow's premier performing arts school and holds over 50 classes a week at Potter Street Community Centre. Classes include hip hop/street dance, ballet, modern, tap, singing, Salsa, Latin, acting/voice technique, and pas de deux and now the latest fitness craze to hit the uk Zumba, making it the biggest school in the area offering this range of classes.
All classes are taught by fully qualified, insured and CRB registered, experienced teachers and former professional dancers. Scott & Ross have performed alongside artists such as Robbie Williams, Geri Halliwell and Kylie Minogue, to name but a few. This enables the school to teach the latest styles and keep its students in the forefront of dance today. Many of the school’s pupils have furthered their training at professional colleges such as Performers, London Studio Centre and Colin’s Performing Arts College, with past and present pupils engaging in professional contracts all over the world.
If it's dance, singing or acting training you want, and are interested in becoming a part of one of the most popular schools around then be assured that Makin' Steps Performing Arts School should be the first place you look.
BS BookWorms
A book club for people from in and around Bishops Stortford. Meet bi-weekly to review what your reading and to share observations. Help you meet and get to know people in the area. We will meet in a local (quiet) bar from 8-10. We will generate a list of books for all of us to read and then discuss going forward. Get in touch and we can decide when and where our first meeting will take place.
BS-Barter
This is a bartering club. The idea is that you trade one thing for another and no money changes hands.
For example,
1:
You may want a ride to the airport and in
exchange you will cut the grass in my garden on an agreed date.
2:
You may have computer games or DVDs you no longer need but want to exchange for others or a bottle of wine or lessons in IT or something of broadly equal value in your eyes.
3:
You may have a spare room and would offer someone the room in exchange for light housework or a set amount of carer/companion hours per week.
4:
You may have skills in design, therapy, entertainment, plumbing, electrical, PC, etc. that you can exchange for a couple of hours in exchange for something you want but can't afford on your budget.
5:
You may like dog walking and exchange that for some home made cakes or a pie or two if the walking is regular, etc.
THESE ARE JUST SAMPLE IDEAS; THINK OF OTHERS...
Send me your offers and I will advertise on here once a week to local readers; tell me
1: What you want to exchange
2: What you want to receive
3: Or, just put it out there and see what others
will exchange for your offer...
4: How you can be contacted (provide an email
address or mobile#)
The possibilities are endless and try not to stick to exchanging items for items. Think more broadly about what you want and what you can give in exchange in more practical terms. These are harsh times economically and this is a way of finding what you need without parting with ANY of your hard earned cash. There will be something for everyone, if everyone joins in the initiative.
Give it a try....

Project three
Diverse Movement
Diverse Movement would be an event for people, from all different back grounds to showcase their talent. My vision is to have a wide range of talented people in one venue to bring them together, so they can network with each other. This could hopefully fuse and create a new diverse generation of performers. The age rating for this showcase would before all age group (For performers and the audience).
People who can get involved with the showcase:Performers:- Musicians Dancers Actors Magicians
Others:- Directors Fashion Designers Investors Athletes Artists
Musicians, Actors, Dancers & Magicians
To get onto the showcase each act would have to audition. This would be a small audition process that a panel within the industry judge. Out of the audition process 10 acts will be chosen to perform. The outcome to this would be a possible recognition by someone within the industry and to have fun and to network with others who have a similar outcome in life. The reason for all the different acts is to show that this is not a typical showcase. It’s to show that there is a wide range of talent within all genres.
Inventors, Athletes, Artist, Fashion Designers
These will be set up at the main entrance of the venue and will all have a stand where they can promote their products and offer opportunities. People coming to the show could be into athletics, fashion ETC so therefore could be offered an opportunity such as audition dates for a sports club. This is also a way to network with others
