Dist:0.4km<br/>The Mortimer Trail goes north from Kington and ends at Ludlow Castle 30 miles later. This section is just outside Kington. The trail is well waymarked and runs through the Marches of England which in mediaeval times were dominated by the Mortimer family.

Dist:0.5km<br/>A good number of buildings remain to remind us of the Kington railways. This is the best goods shed and it is virtually unaltered since it saw its last train in 1964.

Dist:0.6km<br/>The original Kington railway station, provided when the lines from Leominster and Eardisley terminated here. A solid Victorian pile, resplendent in BR(W) chocolate and cream paintwork. Nothing substantial remains of the 'new' station, built to serve the through route to New Radnor, although the splendid goods shed looks good for another century.
