As you approach Strefford village you can either clean your boots or take the footbridge.

Dist:0.2km<br/>Just to the north of the village the Quinny joins the Byne Brook and together they flow south, as the Quinny Brook, forming a beautiful 'mini river valley', with some pronounced meanders, gravel banks and islets, high vertical river cliffs and lots of little rills, runnels and pools.

Dist:0.5km<br/>This footpath is steep and slippery hard work to ascend and steep and slippery careful work to descend. Yes, I went over, with my boots seemingly at head height, landing on my hip and elbow, my hip on a small rock. No harm done and quite funny really but not for the uninitiated.

Dist:0.5km<br/>The Quinny Brook has been quietly undercutting its western bank at this point and two fence post now hang in mid-air. The problem is that a herd of bullocks obviously like the post on the right as a scratching post - as evidenced by it's being chipped by their horns and the many hoofprints at its base. When I passed they grazed in an adjacent field, but may have access to this field shortly if the farmer hasn't noticed this problem. If they do get in here I feel its certain one could be in for a dip as the bank could fall back by a foot or more just here under the weight and at least one bovine could find itself in the brook. I hope it is already off limits and soon repaired / re-sited.

Dist:0.8km<br/>This barrier keeps 4x4 drivers off this part of Wenlock Edge but permits walkers and horseriders, who make good use of the bridleways running along the Edge, easy access. On the skyline is the almost ever-present Flounders' Folly tower.
