The personal weblog of freelance writer Ben Locker. He writes about London in general and Hackney in particular, all jumbled up with thoughts on music, politics and passers-by.

Do you really live in Hackney? I own my place but I don't know if it's a home or an investment. This is an attempt to work that out - politics, money, blood and property.

The purpose of this blog is to record over time how several members and supporters of Hackney Green Party are attempting to put our Green ideas and principles into practice. A friendly Stoke Newington resident has given us carte blache to do with his garden (almost) as we will. We are going to try to demonstrate how all of us can find ways to deal with the threats of climate change by working cooperatively to change our way of life in a peaceful and sustainable manner. As we proceed with the project, we shall describe the problems that we encounter when trying to implement these ideas in the urban context, and the solutions that we (hopefully) come upon.

My blog is about living in E8, promoting and reviewing the delights it has to offer (cinemas, cafes, restaurants, parks etc) and also discussing my pregnancy which will result in a new E8 resident!
