Dist:0.3km<br/>At first I thought my shadow in this picture had spoilt the image, but on reflection the shadow of someone obviously taking a picture of the bird and it's comical "you must take my best side" pose add an element of humour. The building in the distance is The Sandpiper, who serve an excellent meal. This picture also illustrates how fearless and used to human proximity these birds are - the camera was in minimum zoom and I was about 1.5m away from the Swan. It was neither perplexed nor bothered, though I suspect a bit annoyed that my camera wasn't a tasty morsel of bread - something many people (wrongly) bring to feed the ducks, geese and swans here. (don't feed swans bread - it can swell in their crops and kill them).

Dist:0.4km<br/>This monument commemorates the Millennium Park in which it stands. Years ago this would have been in the middle of the West Wales Line, but a short tunnel has subsequently been built and it now stands on top of this area. The area of Llanelli visible in the background is Stradey & Furnace.

Dist:0.4km<br/>A monument in the distance at Millennium Park, Llanelli. A group of ramblers were being given a tour of the park's features and were at this point being told about the monument.

Dist:0.4km<br/>A gorsedd is a stone circle that is used as part of the druidic ceremonies when the National Eisteddfod comes to a Welsh town (a Welsh cultural festival that takes place once a year in different towns around the principality). The gorsedd is especially built for this purpose, rather than being an ancient monument. This gorsedd was built in 2000 when the National Eisteddfod visited Llanelli.
