Dist:1.1km southeast<br/>Grotto Wood occupies the site of a 17th or early 18th century formal garden. The garden was associated with Roxford Manor (now the site of Roxford Farm). The wood contains the rather forlorn remains of three ornamental pools and a series of mounds. The grotto itself is long gone. The site is now a nature reserve.

Dist:1.3km east<br/>The former Hertford & Welwyn Junction Railway was opened in 1858 and closed in 1951. This is the trackbed west of the former station at Hertingfordbury looking towards Welwyn. It now forms part of National Cycle Network Route 61 which will ultimately connect Dorney near Maidenhead with Rye House Station where the River Stort joins the River Lee.
