Dist:0.3km<br/>Mostly factories in this area up to the 1970's on both sides of the river, made popular for this purpose by the presence of coal mines on Troopers Hill, seen to the left, also quarries for stone and clay. The River Avon provided transport. Now given over to housing developments handy for the city centre.

Dist:0.4km<br/>Alongside the Bristol Avon, the road heads west, downstream, to the centre of Bristol. A car body repair business is to the left. Monarch's Way follows this road for a short distance.

Dist:0.4km<br/>The towpath here is now wide and well-surfaced providing excellent access for walkers and cyclists. Unfortunately, this does not continue much further before joining the nearby busy road.

Dist:0.4km<br/>This milestone is beside Summerhill Road. It says its 9.5 miles to Bath and 2 miles to Briftol (well the old fashioned 's'). The footpath heads down the hill towards allotments.
