Dist:0.2km north<br/>Badger Farm Road (A3090) leads down to the roundabout where it meets Hockley Link , Otterbourne Road and St Cross Road (B3335). Whiteshute Lane bridleway crosses the road, just in front of the car coming up the hill. This view is from the footbridge across Badger Farm Road, a safer way to cross.

Dist:0.2km north<br/>This footbridge carries the Whiteshute Lane and Clarendon Way (Winchester-Salisbury) footpaths over Badger Farm Road. Constructed as B road in the 1970s, the road was later used to divert the A3090 and is now notorious for surface noise.

Dist:0.4km north<br/>Looking towards St Cross from a crossroads of bridleway and restricted byway on Compton Down, a short distance south of Badger Farm. The 33kV power lines overhead come from the 132/33kV substation near Olivers Battery, and go down to 33/11kV substations in Lower Stanmore Lane and Gordon Road. Dist:0.5km north<br/>Bushfield Camp was an army training camp functioning during WWII and also used to train recruits to the Royal Green Jackets regiment between 1961-64. It was also used to train National Servicemen in the 1950s who subsequently went to Malaya or Germany. One who was trained there suggests that this building may have been the armoury,equipment store and NAAFI. A National Serviceman tells me that he spent three months there training from July 1949. At that time the camp was jointly run by the Rifle Brigade and the King's Royal Rifle Corps, both of these regiments subsequently becoming part of the Royal Green Jackets. The internet is strangely silent about its history. It is totally derelict today. The interior walls of this building are covered by modern graffiti paintings. The raised skylights are unusual. The area is the subject of an ongoing debate as to its future use.

Dist:0.5km north<br/>This small roundabout on Badger Farm Road (A3090) is quite busy. It provides access to the large Badger Farm estate, a Sainsbury's store and the houses in the photo at Parliament Place.
