Behind the fence on the left is Westcroft Close, a modern housing estate. The London Plane trees lining the boundary look impressive in the bright autumn sunshine. And no, that's not the photographers shadow in the foreground!

Dist:0.2km north<br/>An unusual connecting path, cutting the corner between Westbere Road and Minster Road. The path passes through a section of Westbere Copse which is managed as a Local Nature Reserve by Camden Council. It includes Jenny Wood Nature Reserve which is on Network Rail property and only opened for special events. Dist:0.3km north<br/>A straight suburban side street running parallel with the 'Roman' A5 Shoot-up Hill. Lots of glorious autumn colour on the trees. This road was a popular cut through for drivers trying to avoid the tailbacks on the A5 in the 1970's, though whether it is so popular now with speed humps and so many parked vehicles I don't know. A quick mention of praise for the Veolia truck driver on the right, who pulled up before answering his mobile phone.

Dist:0.4km north<br/>Built by the Romans and named Watling Street, the A5 displays its straightness here as it passes through Cricklewood. This is the usual mid morning traffic jam on the A5, caused by the traffic lights at Mill Lane. There will be further delays for drivers as they continue their journey through Kilburn. The driver of the 189 has stopped to allow the blue Rover to pull into the bus lane. I don't think he's doing them a favour as they will probably be caught on the bus camera or one of the street cameras and issued with a £120.00p fine! The bus is TA85, an Alexander ALX400 bodied Dennis Trident.

Dist:0.4km north<br/>Seen from the junction with Rondu Road. Behind the motorcyclist is the Windmill Bar. Beyond, between Keyes Road and Anson Road, is an imposing parade of shops with flats above. London Plane trees, still very green, are dotted about in a semi-random fashion.
