Hard to believe now but when opened by the London, Midland and Scottish Railway in 1931, both platforms had long canopies to protect passengers from inclement weather. Today's facilities are somewhat more basic! View north towards Blackpool South station (and until 1964, to Blackpool Central).

This station is on the single-line branch to Blackpool South. In modern times it receives an hourly service of 'Pacer' trains, most of which work through to and from Colne.
