Above the cliffs, just out of shot to the left, houses back straight on to the clifftop - virtually the only stretch of Bournemouth's cliff top where the road has buildings on the south side. The lump of headland at the far end is Hengistbury Head, with the Isle of Wight in the very distance.

Dist:0.6km<br/>Square SZ1490 is only visible at low tide, and today's visit was at New Moon, just before Spring Tide; so, just about the maximum land area visible: perhaps 110m width, and maximum 20m depth, with shingly beach and the ends of two groynes, nos 46 and 47. Seen here, groyne no 46, with a gap for water to pass through.
