These were the playing fields of what is now Twyford Church of England High School; its main use now is as rugby football training ground for London Wasps, which also has its offices there. View from the roof of the school, during a London Open House visit.

This 18th Century house is the administrative building of Twyford Church of England High School. For views from the roof see [[251614]] and [[251607]].

This is the south wall of The Elms, which is the administrative building of Twyford Church of England High School. Tuck pointing is a decorative white ribbon applied over hand-made irregular bricks to give a neat and uniform appearance. Dr Gerard Lynch in a long description on the Brickmaster website http://www.brickmaster.co.uk/tukcpointing.htm tells us it is: "a highly skilled and refined method of pointing brickwork whereby the overall mortar joint is coloured to match the brick and grooved while still 'green' to receive a carefully placed lime-putty : silver sand joint, which is then carefully trimmed to form a precise ribbon-like profile. Its intention, in England, was to create an illusion of gauged ashlared brickwork on walling constructed of standard, often irregular, handmade bricks."

This sports hall with adjacent hard surface sports area are used by Twyford Church of England High School during the day, and as a public sports centre in the evenings and weekends. It is on the site of Farnell's teddy bear factory.

"The Elms" is a house built in 1735 for Sir Joseph Ayloffe, Keeper of the Record Office. It remained a private house until 1964, when it became a school. The last owners were the Farnell family, who built a teddy bear factory next to the house. The house is now the administrative building of Twyford Church of England High School, which was established in 1980. Photo taken during a London Open House day - note visitors on the roof. This is in the square which incorporates King Street. The farmers' market started on May 12th 2007 after refurbishment of the square, and currently is from 9am to 2pm on Saturdays. Dist:1.0km south<br/>This is one of the estate's buildings in a setting described by a plaque in the park as being a 19th century landscape. It is situated in the south east corner of the grid square. The picture was taken from the east side of the building. This was developed by the Rothschilds when they bought the estate.
