Dist:0.9km<br/>A train of empty wagons has arrived to load under the bunker at what was left of Murton mine. The rapid loader was still standing , out of view. The train crew from Sunderland South dock are about to position the train under the loading bunker. The mine shut on the 29 November 1991 and the remaining stock pile was being cleared. it was not long after this the railway shut and is now a cycleway. The train crew depot at Sunderland south dock is also but a memory a reminder that it was not just miners who lost their jobs but the whole support industries as well.
