Dist:0.8km west<br/>Red Moss is one of the largest bogs in Scotland and has been designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest by the government of the United Kingdom. This pond is likely manmade, resulting from peat extraction in this bog beginning at least as early as the 1600s.
