Dist:0.3km<br/>The Don flows at this point between high flood banks which protect the nearby canal navigations and countryside from inundation. The flow is strong, and the swans were making little headway in their effort to find out if I would feed them.

Dist:0.4km<br/>Barriers and lights controlling the road traffic at the swing-bridge can be seen along the lane which passes derelict agricultural buildings. It is a great disappointment to see such fine old buildings, built with local Carboniferous sandstone falling into disrepair, although the extension of this barn clearly employed inferior material.
