Dist:0.6km<br/>Looking south along the road that runs along the spine of this narrow peninsula formed by the Tees. This is as far as one can get at the moment as signs on the gates ahead are of the 'private', 'strictly no admittance' and 'keep out' variety, despite the fact that the OS map shows this as a public road for another half mile towards the hall and farm. This is an interesting and historic area, and it appears that the Sockburn Hall estate may become more accessible to visitors in the future. Information available at www.sockburnhall.co.uk

Dist:0.8km<br/>In the five years since Mick Garrett was here [[[114310]]] the trees planted around this pond have grown quite a bit, and ducks have taken up residence. The ruts in the grassy area appear to remain from when this was the way across to fields beyond, no longer used, as a track off to the right of this view is now the agricultural access route.

Dist:0.8km<br/>The only access road along the Sockburn peninsula. Heading south towards High Sockburn and Sockburn Hall. Walkers here should beware of the 'Sockburn Worm' a fearsome dragon of olden times.
