The river turns sharply from flowing north to flowing east at this point and within a mile drains into the Thames at the site of what was one of the largest flour mills near London.

Each year Borough Road Teachers Training College, held a rag (parade) in aid of various charities. It was an event that the local people looked forward to and hundreds turned out to watch. This scene was at the start of the event on London Road, Isleworth and was proceeding towards Hounslow. A girl is carrying a collecting tin, traffic is obviously held up, but nobody minded. Behind the car is a walking jazz band. Many floats follow behind.

Looking east. This line is part of the ex-LSWR Hounslow Loop.

Exterior, north side. Most of the windows in the once-handsome station house have been covered with steel shuttering to prevent vandalism.

The bridge carries the Hounslow Loop line over London Road, part of the A315. We are just east of Isleworth station.

Very close to Isleworth station and at the junction of Linkfield Road. Still an 'Inn' in the sense that accommodation is available.

The Victorian terrace houses which had occupied this space were demolished probably around 1970 and replaced by what you see here.

This is part of the B363. A Class 450 'Desiro' unit of South West Trains is visible as it calla at Isleworth station.

Dist:1.0km north<br/>The parakeet is more likely to be foraging for food. This is a feral ring-necked parakeet - scientific name Psittacula krameri.

Dist:1.0km south<br/>Mogden sewage works are very much a local landmark though the smell is more present than the view.

Dist:1.0km south<br/>The river and a path alongside it run through the sewage works and is a convenient (if smelly) shortcut between Twickenham and Isleworth for cyclists and pedestrians. It is an artificial watercourse owned and maintained by the Environment Agency. This stretch of the Duke's River is fed from the River Crane at Mereway Road, Twickenham and discharges into the Thames at Mill Plat, Isleworth.
