Dist:0.1km north<br/>Each year Borough Road Teachers Training College, held a rag (parade) in aid of various charities. It was an event that the local people looked forward to and hundreds turned out to watch. This scene was at the start of the event on London Road, Isleworth and was proceeding towards Hounslow. A girl is carrying a collecting tin, traffic is obviously held up, but nobody minded. Behind the car is a walking jazz band. Many floats follow behind.

Dist:0.5km north<br/>The river turns sharply from flowing north to flowing east at this point and within a mile drains into the Thames at the site of what was one of the largest flour mills near London.

Dist:0.6km west<br/>The Crew are seen posing for press photographs after being welcomed back to their Home Depot on the last night of the last day of the Route 657. It can be seen from the people present, that although it was a cool May evening, a party atmosphere prevailed.Refer to my image[[670490]] taken a short while earlier.

Dist:0.7km west<br/>This photo, taken at Isleworth Depot, was the last trolleybus to work over the route 657 Hounslow to Shepherds Bush. Crowds of people turned out on a cool May evening in 1962 to welcome the crew back to their home depot. The vehicle itself had been packed with passengers and a party atmosphere prevailed. Note the advert for a week's holiday at Prestatyn Holiday Camp £8-15-0.!

Dist:0.8km north<br/>Viewed looking towards London, one can just make out Gillette's clock tower on left hand side over the roof of the Osterley Hotel and on the right hand side the roof of St.Francis Church. Note that there are cycle tracks on each side of the carriageway, grass verges, very few street lights and not much traffic! The houses on the left are part of a small development known as Leigham Drive, accessed by the service road, running parallel to the main road. Borough Road Teachers Training College is behind the hedgerow on the right.
