Dist:0.2km<br/>Part of an old lock gate by the towpath of the Huddersfield Narrow Canal. Taken during the hot Summer of 2006. By Winter the colours had faded to almost a monochrome, in keeping with the surrounding woodland.

Dist:0.3km<br/>Operated by Elon Crowther & Sons when I used to visit to see the site's two steam engines and water turbine [[1356689]] [[1356711]] [[1356694]]. This is one of very few exteriors I possess and was taken during a walk along the Yorkshire end of the Huddersfield Narrow Canal (blisters cut this slightly short).

Dist:0.3km<br/>Inverted vertical compound (enclosed) engine by Belliss & Morcom of Birmingham. Built 1953 and in service until c1966. Quite unusual in having a surface condenser. Now in store at Masson Mills, Matlock Bath.
