Dist:0.5km<br/>I was rather surprised to see the scarlet berries of a cotoneaster here on the edge of a field. Presumably the seed was brought here by a passing bird from someone's garden, but I would have expected them to have fallen, or been eaten by more birds, by this time of year. Perhaps their continuing presence is a result of the recent mild winter.

Dist:0.5km<br/>This tower is one of the few remaining parts of the Preceptory church built by the Knights Hospitaller of the Order of St John of Jerusalem in the 12th century. The building was presented to The Knights of St John by King David I (1124 - 1153) and was used by them until the Order was suppressed in 1554.
