Dist:0.5km north<br/>This chapel is on the corner of the junction of Sipson Lane with Sipson Road. The 1881 Ordnance Survey map does not show any building here at all, but there are records of a Salvation Army Hall from 1891 and a Baptist Church from 1907 on this site. The larger building in the distance and some of the nearer lower part have been converted into residential use, but Sipson Christian Fellowship occupy the nearer end of the lower part. The 1881 map shows Sipson as a small community surrounded on all sides by orchards. The whole village is threatened by the plans for a possible third runway at Heathrow Airport.

Dist:0.6km north<br/>This pub is at the junction of the A408 Sipson Road with Harmondsworth Lane. However Sipson's 700 homes, shops, pubs, small businesses and school will be buried under taxiways, terminals, concourses and car parks by 2020 if this year's government review of its 2003 Aviation White Paper approves a Third Runway at Heathrow Airport. Dist:0.7km south<br/>This one third scale model of Concorde is at the northern end of the vehicle tunnel to Terminals 1, 2 and 3 at Heathrow, and at the southern end of the M4 Motorway spur. The right hand one of the two white coaches is emerging from the northbound tunnel from the Terminals. The airport itself opened for civilian use in 1946. The photo was taken from the A4 Bath Road overbridge.
