Dist:0.1km<br/>This area has for many years been a prime location for gravel pits, extracting Thames gravels for use in the construction industry. When the pits became worked out they were infilled with most of West London's domestic refuse and then returned to agricultural use.

Dist:0.5km<br/>This chapel is on the corner of the junction of Sipson Lane with Sipson Road. The 1881 Ordnance Survey map does not show any building here at all, but there are records of a Salvation Army Hall from 1891 and a Baptist Church from 1907 on this site. The larger building in the distance and some of the nearer lower part have been converted into residential use, but Sipson Christian Fellowship occupy the nearer end of the lower part. The 1881 map shows Sipson as a small community surrounded on all sides by orchards. The whole village is threatened by the plans for a possible third runway at Heathrow Airport.

Dist:0.5km<br/>A late mediaeval building, formerly a hall house, Grade II listed. Together with all of Sipson village this is due to be demolished if the construction of Heathrow's third runway goes ahead. There is a very strong movement against the runway development and a one acre field behind the pub has been purchased by protesters with a view to selling it off as 4000 individual plots in order to frustrate the compulsory purchase procedure.

However Sipson's 700 homes, shops, pubs, small businesses and school will be buried under taxiways, terminals, concourses and car parks by 2020 if this year's government review of its 2003 Aviation White Paper approves a Third Runway at Heathrow Airport. Dist:0.6km<br/>A unique survivor of a bygone age amongst the generally grotesque modern development around London Heathrow Airport. This C18th coaching inn was in 1765 known as the 'Three Pigeons' and is the only survivor of many such coaching inns in the vicinity along the Bath Road. Under plans for the expansion of Heathrow Airport with the construction of a third runway this was due to be demolished but the plans have now been shelved.
