![Dist:0.5km<br/>The inscription on the Bamford War Memorial, "To the memory of those who have fallen in the Great War 1914-18, RIP" on the side facing the road; actual names of the 42 St Michael's parishioners who died in the First World War appearing on the other faces. I am guessing that this memorial would have been erected in the 1920s in common with many others throughout the country. The names of the five Bamford servicemn killed in the Second World War have been added in the space above, as with Harry Poole whose name also faces the road.
