Broseley Bell Ringers

 (6 miles away)

Church bell ringing is a team activity that stimulates the brain and keeps you fit. It takes several weeks to learn to ring a bell and there is always an opportunity to learn new things if you wish to, which makes it a very rewarding hobby.

Ringers can be any age from around 15 upwards, male or female, and it is well within the capabilities of most people. You don't need to be musical or to be a church-goer. It is a very social activity and we often go out for team meals or to ring bells at other churches.

A beginner is first taught how to handle a bell safely, and then how to ring with the rest of the team. It takes several weeks to become proficient enough to ring for Sunday services and weddings.

We have a weekly practice on Thursday evenings at Broseley, where beginners learn the basics and more experienced ringers learn new skills. Afterwards, most of the team go for a drink or two in a local pub.

If you are interested in learning to ring, or want to find out more, please contact Ginette on 07872 956912 or
