Dist:0.3km<br/>The Countryside Stewardship Scheme is building up an impressive portfolio of protected farmland habitats. This is a new path which allows access to Lower Saleway Farm Meadows, the remaining part of a once larger area of species-rich grassland. The meadows are managed by taking a late hay cut, thus preserving the diversity of plants by allowing them to seed. This area is now a designated SSSI.

Since 2005 when this view was taken Virgin Trains have lost the franchise for this route and services are now operated by Arriva 'Cross Country', but using the same trains painted in different colours!
